Her influence has been instrumental in the resurgence of the Western Bulldogs AFL team. She has been a trailblazer for the Australian Football League for Women - having played the game as a teenager over 50 years ago.
In 2004 Susan became a Board Member of the Western Bulldogs Football Club. Since 2003 Alberti has been the Patron of the Western Bulldogs football club. In December 2012 she became Vice President of the Club and was re-elected to the Board in December 2013. The AFL 2016 Premiership win by the Bulldogs was the result of an incredible alignment within the club.
Alberti has supplemented her successful business career as MD for Construction firm DANSU Group with a major contribution and commitment to fundraising and promotion of juvenile diabetes research. She was National President of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Australia. She has raised millions toward the search for a cure for diabetes.
Her powerful story of tragedy and triumph was told by Australian Story on ABC TV in 2016.
