Event description

Description

Ever dreamed of seeing your byline in your favourite magazine or newspaper?

We're not just talking about a letter to the editor but your name next to an article that you have written and been paid for.

Feature writing for magazines and newspapers is not dying; it’s thriving.

Lindy Alexander is a freelance writer based in Castlemaine who regularly contributes to some of Australia’s best loved and well known publications such as delicious., Sunday Life, The Saturday Paper, The Age and MiNDFOOD.

Lindy also has a very popular blog about being a freelance writer and has recently presented at The Freelance Festival and the Emerging Writers' Festival. She also coaches other freelance writers.

This workshop for beginning freelance writers is a unique opportunity to benefit from Lindy's grounded wisdom on how to start writing for magazines, newspapers and online publications.

During this four-hour session Lindy will take you through the process of how to come up with article ideas for magazines, newspapers and online outlets, how to analyse publications and pitch your story idea to an editor.

You'll need to bring a magazine, newspaper or publication you love (BYO computer if it's an online publication)

All Saturday Sessions have limited numbers to maximise learning. Book in now to avoid missing this unique opportunity.

Tickets are transferrable but not refundable if you are unable to get there.

Contact Tim at info@cohoots.info if you have any questions.
