A practical guide on being cyber-wise for seniors.

Join Phil Holleley from South Coast Community College for a free 3-hour workshop on cyber safety.

This is a friendly, hands-on session designed especially for seniors. Learn how to stay safe online when using your phone, tablet or computer with plain-English tips and real-life examples.

What you will learn:

  • · How to spot scams and fake messages
  • · Simple password and privacy tips
  • · How to stay safe on email and social media
  • · What to do if something goes wrong online
  • · Easy ways to protect your personal information

There is a second session on Wednesday, 25 February, 1.30pm - 4.30pm.

It’s never too late to learn how to stay safe online! No tech experience required.

Don't forget to bring your phone, tablet or laptop.

Cost: free.

Terms and conditions

  • Your attendance at events supported by Eurobodalla Libraries may be digitally recorded through photographs and/or video recordings. Images may be used for promotional purposes on council’s websites, publications, social media or by newspapers. By attending this session, you agree to these terms. If you do not wish your image (or the image of your child) to be published, please notify staff before the event.
  • Booking are essential as spaces are limited.
  • For children’s events, children aged 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. During an event a child’s parent or guardian must remain on the library premises but does not have to be in the event space.
  • Age ranges are placed on events to ensure children have the best experience possible.
  • Please do not book your child into an event if they do not meet this requirement.
  • Please arrive 10 minutes early to allow the event to run on time.

Cancellations

  • Our events often book out. In consideration of others, please cancel your booking if you are no longer able to attend.
  • Tickets can be cancelled up to 48 hours before the start of an event. Refunds for paid events will incur a small Eventbrite booking fee. To cancel, log into Eventbrite using the email you used to purchase your ticket.
  • If you need to cancel within 48 hours and would like to discuss your situation with the Library Coordinator, please email: library@esc.nsw.gov.au
  • Occasionally, Eurobodalla Libraries are required to cancel an event due to insufficient bookings or unforeseen circumstances. If we need to cancel an event you will be notified via email or telephone and the cost of your purchased ticket will be fully refunded. Events cancelled by Eurobodalla Libraries will not incur a cancellation fee.
