Have you had interviews, but just can't land the job?
Are you totally overwhelmed with what to do next?
Maybe you have some work, but it's not quite what you want and need help taking your next step?
This is the program for You!
This one day 'Learn to Get a Job' intensive you will be taken through the entire recruitment process for the industry you are wanting to get a job in. You will be personally mentored to:
- Know the best job approach for the industry you want to get into
- Understand Job Descriptions and Person Specifications
- Prepare your resume and application letter for the job you are applying to
- Complete and submit an application
- Understand the importance of first impressions
- Prepare and undertake interviews
- Receive extensive feedback you can use to develop your skills in job hunting
- Make an effective entrance into the world of work
Eligibility criteria applies:
- This course is for 14 - 25 year olds.
- Young people must live or be enrolled in a school within the Town of Gawler
- or Barossa or Light a Council areas
Program Dates and Times:
This is a One (1) day program.
The program runs from 9.15am - 4.30pm.
Three (3) Pre-Program requirements:
- When registering for this Program participants will be asked to indicate the types of roles they are interested in applying for.
- Participants must submit a resume to youth@gawler.sa.gov.au reflective of the industry they are seeking to get a job at least one week prior to the Program.
- Email your choice of lunch as individual lunch options will be served to comply with COVID19 restrictions. Choices are: Ham, Cheese and Tomato, Salad - lettuce, tomato, carrot, cucumber and cheese or Chicken, lettuce and mayonaise.
Facilitators:
Participants will be spoilt with professionals from various industries.
David Weatherley runs DW Workplace Consulting. He spent 38 years with a Financial Institution in the Human Resources area. He was responsible for recruitment and selection for both internal and external appointments. David was a member of two Vocational Education boards, working with school leavers entering the workplace. He also designed and delivered a Job Search program for school leavers that is now accredited for SACE.
