As part of the Emergence exhibition public program, we invite you to a series of rapid-fire presentations, inviting exhibitors to present on the theme of: How shall we live together?

In light of their Byera Hadley Travelling Scholarship research, exhibitors are asked to present on how we can contribute towards a better society and future. Be it in improving education, housing, street life, cultural endeavours, ecological justice, vibrant communities, cherished subjects and more - what micro and macro-scale endeavours have potential for positive impact in the long-run?

Please join us for a thought-provoking evening of ideas and architectural research.

About Emergence

This event is a part of the public program for Emergence, an exhibition running at the Tin Sheds Gallery from June 17 to July 31, 2021. Emergence brings together decades of architectural research from the Byera Hadley Travelling Scholarship in an interactive exhibition and a series of public talks. Established in 1951, the scholarship is based on the belief that travel is key to developing exciting new architectural ideas and continuing strong discourse throughout the profession. Drawing on this deep trove of knowledge, Emergence showcases over 35 unique projects dispersed across a field of ‘fragments’. Paralleled by a digital twin and diverse public program, the show aims to foster curiosity in research, uncover previously unimagined connections and create a place for participants to dwell and discover.

Emergence Curators

Anna Ewald-Rice, Doug Hamersley, Tiffany Liew, Eleanor Peres and Byron Kinnaird (ARB NSW)
