Event description

Description

Want to build better cities and towns? Discover how to create a more liveable and inviting city through accessibility and inclusion.

Liveability is more than green spaces. Liveability is about accessibility, inclusion and autonomy. Come on a journey to explore ways to create welcoming and healthier cities through putting disability at the centre of the liveability equation.

Want to build better cities and towns? Discover how to create a more liveable and inviting city through accessibility and inclusion.

We’re moving accessibility from a mere checkbox or allocation of a toilet with a rail and onto the mainstage at Vivid Ideas. Once you solve the liveability issues of people with disabilities, the elderly and with mobility concerns, you create greater access for all. We’ll look at where we are now, what true liveability means, how we get there and why it’s important at this special event. Explore a new vision for liveability and city design based on inclusion and respect. We’re bringing together a panel of experts to discuss how to enhance the experience of a city, it’s public spaces, large scale festivals and more by planning with disability in mind.

Join us for a panel where liveability has more to do with concrete quality and inclusion than it does with fresh air and green spaces. A panel of experts is tackling the idea of city liveability with their sights firmly set on inclusion and accessibility. Or more importantly, the lack thereof. Bringing together planners, idea makers, people with lived experience and those with a keen interest in liveability, this panel moves beyond general liveability into creating cities and towns based on disability.

As part of the VIVID IDEAS program for 2018.

PLEASE NOTE: You will be required to check-in and be seated during 2:45pm to 3pm. Timely arrival to all events is appreciated.
