Stand Up for the Sisterhood on International Women's Day!
"Honor Diaries" is the first film to break the silence on honour violence* against women and girls. "Honor Diaries" aims to be more than a movie - it is an international movement to save women and girls from human rights abuses.
On Saturday March the 8th - International Womens Day, we will be hosting a community screening of the 'Honor Diaries', as part of a world wide launch of the film, together with a coalition of over 30 human rights groups.

*Honour based violence is a violent crime or incident committed to protect or defend the honour of a family or community. Victims of honour violence are usually targeted because their behavior violates cultural or religious norms and is seen to bring shame onto the family or community.
For example, honour based violence might be committed against people who:
* become involved with a boyfriend or girlfriend from a different culture or religion.
* want to get out of an arranged or forced marriage
*wear clothes or behave in a way that might be considered as going against religious or cultural protocols
