Home School - Term 4.
Commencing on Tuesday 18 October 2016, this term will be all about Australian artists of the 20th Century. From print making, to hyper-real and landscape painting we will be exploring different techniques and artists for ideas, inspiration and ways of developing your art practise. In our final week 5, we will be undertaking an excursion day trip to Bundanon Trust.
Classes run from 1pm-3pm at this stage. If enough students join we will run a morning class as well.
18th October - Prints and Print Makers
Learn about different ways of making prints, see works by different Australian artists and study how different techniques can be used for the creation of art works. Students will then have the opportunity to try two different linocut style prints, with one image from their visual diaries to be developed into a final print.
25th October - Print Making continued
Students will continue with developing one of their drawings into a print.
1st November - Jeffrey Smart and urban environments
This week students will explore the art of Jeffrey Smart and compare his style to other hyper-real and surrealist artists to see what makes Smart different. Students will then use the urban environment as visible from the Arts Centre, and through Smart's work to develop a work in the same style.
22nd November - Urban Environments continued
Students continue to develop their work in the style of Jeffrey Smart, looking at colour usage and blending as well as perspective and composition.
29th November - Day trip to Bundanon
Students will meet at Bundanon and spend the day with art educators there to learn about the life and work of Arthur Boyd and explore different techniques for developing landscape paintings in the natural environment.
