Description

Learn how to create your own wildlife wonderland

The important role our backyards play in contributing to environmental biodiversity shouldn’t be underestimated.

Our gardens provide critical habitat for local birds, butterflies, native bees, frogs and lizards and help them move safely through our suburbs. Turning your backyard into an environmental ‘stepping stone’ is easy, but requires some knowledge and planning.

Council has engaged expert educators at LaTrobe Wildlife Sanctuary to bring you this special ‘Homes for Wildlife’ workshop. Through hands on activities you will learn more about the habitat provided by your backyard, identify the needs of native wildlife and will leave with a better understanding of how to create a wildlife friendly garden.

You will be free to look around the Sanctuary after the workshop.

This workshop is part of the 'Living for our Future Program', a community sustainable living initiative of the City of Boroondara. Stay up to date about future events and resources by visiting our Living for our Future webpage or by signing up for our e-newsletter.
