Event description

Description

You are invited to a roundtable discussion with Greens housing spokesperson Senator Lee Rhiannon, Queensland Greens Councillor Jonathon Sri and frontline public housing and renters’ rights activists.

4-6 pm Thursday 2 November
Lee Rhiannon’s Office (72 Campbell St, Surry Hills).
Free event. All welcome. Lots of time for discussion.
Campaign kits will be provided.

Australia is in the midst of a housing rip-off. Understandably housing is a top concern for many people, not just in our cities and not just among young people. The rigged policies of the Coalition and Labor are driving the current crisis.

We need a housing system that works for the many, not just a handful of investors. The Queensland Greens recently led the way, announcing a plan to build one million homes, open up public housing to everyone and protect renters’ rights.
We are keen to discuss how this would work in NSW? How can we achieve universal housing?

Join us to hear the latest developments from frontline campaigners and learn what we can do to change the conversation on housing.

We’ll be discussing housing with:
-Greens Housing Spokesperson Senator Lee Rhiannon
-Greens Councillor for the Brisbane City Council, Jonathan Sri
-The Save Millers Point Campaign
-The Waterloo Public Housing Action Group
-The Tenants’ Union, NSW
