Event description

Australia’s leading Hiking adventure company “Aussie Bike or Hike” is joining forces with Sydney’s fastest growing Holistic Coaching practice “Elemental Coaching” to offer a very unique opportunity.

Enjoy a 2-day holistic hiking and camping weekend which encompasses a full mind, body and soul experience.

Holistic Health can be defined as an approach to life. Rather than focusing on illness or specific parts of the body, this ancient approach to health considers the whole person and how he or she interacts with his or her environment. Holistic health emphasises the connection of mind, body, and spirit.

The goal is to achieve maximum well-being, where everything is functioning at the highest level possible.
Using the experience and expertise of Elise Kovacs, owner of Elemental coaching, you will explore the latest information about gut health and its link to mental health, meditation, mindfulness, creating a positive mindset, and becoming the creator of your own life!

Hiking outdoors has plenty of perks: nice views, fresh air, and the sounds and smells
of nature. It's good for you, too.

Hiking is a powerful cardio workout that can lower your risk of heart disease, improve your blood pressure and blood sugar levels, boost bone density, build strength in your glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings, and calves, strengthen your core, improve your balance, help control your weight and enhance your mood.
Research shows that hiking has a positive impact on combating the symptoms of stress and anxiety as being in nature is ingrained in our DNA, this is something we sometimes forget.

Alex Cudlin will conduct this side of the weekend guiding clients on a magical walk through some of Australia’s most beautiful locations and seeing some of the best kept secrets of Laurieton NSW.

Day 1

Our first day begins when we meet at Diamond Water Caravan Park. You’ll meet Alex Cudlin and Elise Kovacs and have an introduction to the weekend adventures.
We will then begin the hike portion. Today will be all about the picturesque coastline.

Diamond Head Beach is a standout destination - one of many glorious beaches on the Mid North Coast of NSW, and is the perfect showcase for what the sleepy town of Laurieton and the surrounding area has to offer.
You will experience a picture-perfect setting, with golden sandy beaches, pristine water and waves that are ideal for swimming in. It’s easily accessible by foot and is rich in both marine and shore-dwelling wildlife. You may be lucky enough to see pods of dolphins as they frequent the waters just off the beach’s main strip.

Whales can even be spotted during their annual migration season. The beach also boasts outstanding surfing conditions around the Diamond headland.

At the half way point we will stop for lunch prepared by the “Aussie Bike or Hike” staff.

After Lunch Elise will give us an intro to mindful eating and mindful breathing with breath observation to help digestion, followed by meditation before we continue the next part of the hike.

We will then continue the hike seeing some beautiful sites.

At the end of the day’s hike, you’ll be transported to the Diamond Waters Caravan Park, where your camp site will be waiting.

We have a supply of 12 tents (2 person), 12 air mattresses set up and ready for you, (however please bring your own blanket and pillow.)

After some free time around the camp, a healthy dinner will be prepared by our team where you can sit back, connect with yourself and others and enjoy the natural surroundings.

From there Elise will delve into a valuable session about sleep and how it can affect your mood, digestion, body composition and overall health. After the talk we will commence a letting go/fire ceremony to release anything that no longer serves you.

To top off an incredible day we will conclude the night with toasting marshmallows around the campfire, listening to the rolling ocean, sharing in some campsite conversation and relaxing music. Prior to bed there will be a short-guided meditation to prepare you for a restorative sleep, ready for your big climb on Day 2. There will be
introspective quiet time between 10pm and 8am where you are encouraged to reflect on your day and experience, allowing anything that has come up for you to be felt and processed.

Day 2

We will start today with a 6:30am wake-up to sunrise, for awakening the body with breath, movement and meditation.

Then a hot shower and a healthy breakfast with a hot cup of tea or coffee at the camp site made by one of our staff.

After fuelling up for the day, it’s time to begin our hike up North Brother Mountain.

The summit of North Brother Mountain is 490 metres and offers superb views over the coastline, the lakes and the mouth of the Camden Haven River. You’ll also be able to see as far as Crowdy and Harrington, as well as Middle Brother and South Brother Mountains in the distance. This is one of Australia's most impressive coastal
panoramas. On May 12th, 1770, Captain James Cook entered in his ship’s log a description of his experiences of the sailing of Laurieton and you can read an excerpt of this on a special plaque at the top of the mountain.

The area is characterised by large stands of rainforest, which are rich in native fauna and flora.

After catching your breath and taking in the magnificent views at the top Elise will give a talk on nutrition, gut health and the link to mental health, providing you with practical information to take away and implement into your daily lives. Afterwards you will have 2 options; jump in the van and have the friendly Aussie Bike or Hike crew drive you to the bottom of the mountain or walk back down the mountainside with your tour guide (recommended).
Once at the bottom, our crew will transport you back to your car, where we will farewell you before you head off home approximately 2.30pm.
