Description

Presented by The University of Melbourne (Grimwade Centre, Faculty of Arts) and co-hosted with Humanities 21, this exciting and informative program will comprise a series of lectures, performance and immersive interaction with this historically and culturally significant text.

The "Chronicles" is an important resource in Shakespearean and Elizabethan studies. The University of Melbourne's volume has the potential to contribute to an understanding of British history, book production and woodblock illustration.

This is the first event in the series, and will comprise:

An introduction to the project, its objectives and benefits to the University of Melbourne

Gwenda Thomas is the Director of Scholarly Services and University Librarian at the University of Melbourne. Her previous experience includes academic library leadership positions in the South African higher education sector at the University of Cape Town where she was the Executive Director of Libraries and the Library and Information Studies Centre and the Director of Library Services at Rhodes University.


Dr Una McIlvenna is an Academic within the Historical and Philosophical Studies Faculty at The University of Melbourne. Her area of interest within research lies within the fields of early modern cultural and literary history. Una was awarded her PhD from Queen Mary University of London and was honoured with a fellowship from the Royal Historical Society (UK) in 2016.
