Holden Sheppard in-conversation with Michael Trant presented by Act-Belong-Commit

About this Event

You're invited to a free evening, with refreshments, to hear from and talk with two Mid West authors, Holden Sheppard and Michael Trant.

Holden's debut novel, Invisible Boys, won the 2018 City of Fremantle T.A.G. Hungerford Award and the 2017 Ray Koppe Residency Award, and was Highly Commended in the 2018 ASA Emerging Writers’ Mentorship Prize.

In a small town, everyone thinks they know you: Charlie is a hardcore rocker, who's not as tough as he looks. Hammer is a footy jock with big AFL dreams, and an even bigger ego. Zeke is a shy over-achiever, never macho enough for his family. But all three boys hide who they really are. When the truth is revealed, will it set them free or blow them apart?

Michael's debut novel, Ridgeview Station, was published by Allen & Unwin in 2017 and his former blog Farmer’s Way of Life was listed by the National Library as a Rural Blog of Significance in 2013.

An entertaining yarn set on a vast outback property peopled with colourful and authentic characters, Ridgeview Station is about love, loss and the spirit of the bush.

We're honoured to host Holden and Michael and invite you to join us at 6:30pm on Monday 28 October 2019 at The Exchange, 4 Macpherson Street in Carnamah.

The evening will include Holden and Michael talking together about their work, an audience Q&A, book signings (for those who would like to buy a book) and a general chat over refreshments and food.

This event is open invitation with no RSVP or booking required. Enquiries: mail@northmidlands.org.au or 0457 911 984
