Future Frigate and Offshore Patrol Vessels Industry Briefing
The Future Frigate and Offshore Patrol Vessel programs are key pillars of the Government’s plan to modernise Australia’s naval capabilities and create a sustainable naval shipbuilding industry.
The Future Frigate Program will replace Australia’s existing fleet of eight Anzac class frigates with a new fleet of nine anti-submarine warfare frigates. Additionally, we will be replacing the current thirteen Armidale Class Patrol Boats fleet with twelve Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs).
The government has made a firm commitment to industry in that when acquiring the Defence Capability of the future, Australian industry has the best possible chance of benefiting from those contracts. Department of Defence encourages industry to attend Future Frigate and Offshore Patrol Vessel briefings across Australia in November and December 2016 to find out more about this opportunity.
The briefing will include:
- Information on the Future Frigate and Offshore Patrol Vessel programs followed by a question and answer session;
- The Centre for Defence Industry Capability (CDIC) providing information on the newly-formed CDIC and how CDIC will connect industry with Defence opportunities; and
- An introductory workshop for SMEs on Doing Business with Defence (optional).
Morning tea and lunch will be provided (Please let us know of any dietary requirements). Admission to the briefing is free, but registration is essential.
