History of Entrepreneurship
A walking tour of Footscray in partnership with the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre
Part of the Think West program
Through years of migration the Footscray Central Business District has built a rich and diverse cultural landscape, as each new community has added to the social and community fabric of the area. The many layers of migration have changed the face of entrepreneurship in Melbourne’s inner west and seen passionate people, young and old, work to make change in their community.
In this guided tour of Footscray join VU at MetroWest and the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) as we explore the establishment of the Footscray Market, little Saigon and little Africa precincts. Meet with up and coming entrepreneurs emerging from the ASRC innovation hub, be inspired by stories of Footscray’s rich history and sample some of the finest cuisine from around the world, brought to Footscray by the personal journeys of those who now call it home.
Meet at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, Footscray.
