Event description

Description

To celebrate the 181st birthday of the naming of Adelaide’s Streets and Squares, come and hear Dr Jeff Nicholas in conversation with guide Glen Woodward and Mr Graham Rees; the great, great nephew of the infamous Newgate prisoner. Edward Gibbon Wakefield is claimed by some to be ‘The Father of the British Commonwealth’, which begs the question as to why he became 'persona non grata' in the late nineteenth century Adelaide.
