1877 Hill & Son Grand Organ Children’s Demonstration & Tour
About this event
We welcome families to join the Friends of the Hill & Son Organ in this fun, music filled session to discover how the organ works, it’s brilliant story and journey under the stage to see what’s inside.
Built originally for the Adelaide Town Hall in 1875, it's the oldest concert organ on the Australian mainland. The Organ Historical Trust acquired the instrument in 1994 and with the cooperation of local organisations the Tanunda Soldiers' Memorial Hall became its permanent home in 1997. Since then, the Hill and Son Grand Organ has been fully restored both internally and externally.
This Tour is a part of the Barossa Regional Gallery's School Holidays Children's Creative Workshops Program.
$10 donation per family to the ongoing maintenance of the Organ
