by ANSTO
Date and time
Description
Learn about a unique part of Australia’s science heritage from a series of guest speakers and panellists that worked on the Hifar reactor. The Hifar reactor operated for nearly 50 years from 1958 and during this time, it made significant contributions to Australian society by producing medical radioisotopes and to our scientific knowledge. Hifar was shut down in 2007 when ANSTO’s new reactor, OPAL, started operation.
Morning tea will be available on arrival before the presentation.
