About this event

We understand how busy life in a small business can be and why some things (like tax) are too complicated to worry about. Our aim is to provide a simple explanation of how the rules work so that you understand where you fit into the big picture and how to be one step ahead. Plenty of time to discuss your questions.

In this workshop we will cover:

  • The tax year conundrum.
  • Where you (as a sole trader or partnership) fit into the tax system.
  • Sole Traders and Partnerships v Companies.
  • Why wait until it is too late to be in a better tax situation.
  • Planning ahead for the end of the financial year.
  • Delaying income and bringing forward expenses.
  • Other tips on how to influence the year end of year result.
  • Drawings v Wages.
  • Open Discussion and farewells (6.30pm – 7.00pm)

PRESENTER: Martin O’Donnell has had small business’ and partnerships for over 25 years as well as significant commercial accounting experience in larger organisations. Currently a small business adviser, he realises the importance of breaking down the subject into easy to understand segments for all participants regardless of existing knowledge.
