Western Health would like to invite you to a day of education to raise awareness of

Family Violence in health care settings.

'Health Cares about Family Violence Day’.


The theme for 2017 is:

Health Equity Responses across the Lifespan


Keynote Speaker:

Dr Anita Morris - Family Violence Principal Practitioner, Department of Health and Human Services


Featuring:

Mr Gerard Mansour - Commissioner for Senior Victorians and Ambassador for Elder Abuse Prevention

Dr Anne Smith - Medical Director - Victorian Forensic Paediatric Medical Service

Ilana Jaffe - Inner North West Primary Care Partnership


Internationally, ‘Health Cares about Family Violence Day’ occurs annually on the second Wednesday of October each year, and aims to;

  • ​Reach members of the healthcare and advocacy communities

  • Offer education about the critical importance of universal education regarding family violence

  • Promote healthy relationships

  • Address the health impacts of violence across the lifespan
