Learn weaving and string-making techniques and their cultural significance with Ngiyampaa Elder Aunty Daniella Chedzey.

About this event

Join Ngiyampaa Elder Aunty Daniella Chedzey to learn how to create a woven Kurrajong string and flowers.   

Use your hands to make something beautiful and sustainable from Country. In this unique workshop, learn First Nation’s weaving and string-making techniques and gain insights into the cultural knowledge embedded in this practice.  

Open to beginner and experienced weavers, this workshop is mainly designed for adults. Children over 12 years old who can sit still and quiet for long periods also welcome. Those under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Aunty Daniella Chedzey is a proud Ngiyampaa Wangaaypuwan woman of the Pilaarrkiyalu Pilar tree Mayi, Elder, weaver and dancer.

Join Aunty Daniella as she shares her cultural knowledge through her traditional practice of weaving.
