Description

Full session title: Hazardous Manual Tasks Workshop: WHS requirements and practical risk management tools

Hosted by Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of Australia (HFESA) local branch and SafeWork SA

Heidi Turbill, Principal Consultant at Pinnacle Workplace Consultants
Saody Lee, Senior Return to Work SA Evaluator, ReturnToWorkSA
Paul Dickinson, WHS advisor, SafeWork SA

“Drowning in information, but starved of knowledge”: this is how many people feel when seeking information on management of hazardous manual tasks (HMTs). This workshop aims to draw out the simple ‘must know’ information from the huge volume of often confusing information about HMTs.

It will look briefly at the relevant parts of the Work Health and Safety Regulations (SA) 2012 and the Code of Practice for HMTs, followed by talks from some experts in this field describing practical risk assessment and control tools, and an indication of what should be regarded as ‘best practice’ management of HMTs in South Australian workplaces.

This event is targeted at small to medium sized businesses.

Refreshments available.
