Gentle Hatha Yoga for mature students
Term 3 Thursdays, 27th July - 28th Sept 2017 (6.15 pm -7.30 pm)
Join in and improve your flexibility, balance and joint mobility. Increase your strength and enhance your vitality, mental sharpness and clarity. Let go off pain and have a deeper, restful sleep.
This class has been specifically designed for the needs of mature students over 40+, 50+.
The (75 minutes) class begins with relaxation, followed by gentle warm up, slow Hatha yoga sequence exploring the asanas and breath and concludes with 10-15 minutes of yogic sleep (iRest Yoga Nidra- mindfulness meditation/deep relaxation). Each week we will explore one asana (yogic posture) in detail. We will look at the history and meaning of the pose, its emotional, mental and physical benefits. We will explore variations and proper alignment in depth so that at the end of the term you will feel like you’ve done a yoga teacher training without doing one :) We will be covering different poses in each term (4 terms per year - see below).
This class is a gentle Hatha yoga class and is suitable for students over 40+. Men and women are welcome. We will have fun practising yoga in a small group with maximum ten (10) participants to make sure that you will get personal attention and your experience is special and intimate. Variations to poses will be given to cater to various levels of strength and flexibility. We will use yoga props if necessary (e.g. straps, blocks, bolsters etc.) to assist in settling into poses safely and comfortably.
After the first class on the 27th July we will go for dinner together (at Hutt St) so we can get to know each other and practise yoga in a friendly and joyous environment.
If you haven’t done yoga before and would like to try - this is a perfect class for you. It is never too late to start yoga. BYO mat & blanket. If you haven’t got a mat, yoga mats are now readily available in most shops e.g. Amart Short, K-mart, Big W, myer, Lorna Jane etc.
Each term consists of 10 classes.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
This class has been specifically designed for the needs of mature students over 40+, 50+. However if you are younger you are welcome to join us. Current members are in their 40-ties, 50-ties, 60-ties and we have even 2 very fit and healthy 70 years old in the class already.
What are my parking options for getting to and from the event?
South Terrace offers ample car parking. Particulary after 6 pm there is absolutely no problem to find a car park right in front of the venue. This is an ideal location.
What can I bring into the event?
Please bring your yoga mat and blanket if you have.

What's the refund policy?
This ticket is non-refundable.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
There is no need to bring your ticket to the event. The event organiser will have the list of all participants and will contact you prior to the event start.
Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?
The ticket can be transferred to another participant.
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
Yes, however please contact the organiser if this is the case, thank you.
