We in Sri Lanka, celebrate the Thaippongal to say our thanks to the farmers and nature. I would like to bring it to the Australian farmers too.

Thai Pongal is celebrated in Sri Lanka, India, Singapore, Malaysia, and many other countries where Tamils live. This is a day to thank our farmers and nature. Based on this idea, after I was asked by the organisation for the Tamil Festival Australia, I decided to introduce it in Australia as Harvest Festival Australia to thank our Australian farmers and the nature of Australia. This will be a day that we will have a chance to spend with our farmers and know their lives. As we are all working for hours, we know the time. But, they working with lands and animals and birds and nature that they don't know the hours.
