Event description
Toolbox Talks Domestic Violence Awareness & Prevention Training

About this event

Domestic Violence remains a critical issue here in Australia, with significant health and well-being consequences for the victims and their families.

This issue also negatively impacts on a victim's ability to participate in and contribute to their society and economy. It has been estimated that 1 in 6 women in the workforce are affected directly by this issue.

This program is designed to draw focus to the critical role that men play in improving safety for women and children and highlights how social pressures and stereotypes are harmful for both men and women.

This 60 minute, online training session which is evidenced based therefore aims to:

1. Educate men as to the prevalence and impact of DV in Australia.

2. Explore the different types of domestic violence and how to identify them.

3. Empower men to act to respond appropriately to domestic and family violence.

4. Refer individuals to additional support services.

The interactive training session will be run by experienced facilitators from the Toolbox Talks team who are available to answer questions and signpost for further support as required. The team work alongside an organisation which has been supporting victims of Domestic Violence for the past 30 years.

Cost: $30 per person (exc booking fee & GST)
