Happiness, motivation and high performance - understanding how people work
Thu. 27 October 2016, 8:00 am – 9:30 am AEDT
They say that in sports, 90 per cent of performance is mental. For years, sports psychologists have worked to ensure that what happens off the field doesn't impact a star athlete’s performance on-field. The recent Olympic Games proved this time and time again with gold medalists regularly citing their ability to stay focused as the key to their success, while those who missed the podium often claiming nerves got the better of them.
For an employee, every day at work is a performance, so getting the best out of them day after day requires an understanding of how they work, think and feel.
In our second Talent Matters event, TEDx speaker/ elite sports psychologist Dr Melissa Weinberg brings her team of experts to educate us on what wellbeing really means, finding true happiness, understanding what makes top talent tick and how we can effect change to ensure we're all succeeding every single day.
What is happiness and how is it achieved?
