For years, sports psychologists have worked to ensure that what happens off the field doesn't impact a star athlete’s performance on-field. The recent Olympic Games proved this time and time again with gold medalists regularly citing their ability to stay focused as the key to their success, while those who missed the podium often claiming nerves got the better of them.
