Event description

Description

Join us at RMIT Gallery to hear international guest Hanna Tuulikki speak about her work in the new exhibition water+wisdom Australia India.

Drawing on extensive research by experts from India and Australia, water+wisdom / Australia India (1 December 2017 - 10 March 2018) presents a poetic dimension on ancient wisdom regarding water management in both continents, as seen through the work of visual artists, creative writers and researchers who have incorporated these issues into their work.

Hanna is a Finnish-English vocalist, musician and artist who works across a range of media and forms. Commissioned for Kochi-Muziris Biennale, SOURCEMOUTH : LIQUIDBODY is an audiovisual installation, featuring a visual-score and suite of films incorporating choreography, vocal composition, and costume.

The installation flows between gesture and sound, inspired by the mnemonic landscapes of India and the relationships between river-systems and the human body.
