Hand-built pottery: clay slab building
Event Information
Description
About the workshop
In this beginners workshop you'll learn the slab building techniques to create a small candle holder. We will teach you how to use lace and flowers to decorate pottery and make a ceramic piece you will treasure forever. We'll fire your creation for you to be picked up at a later date.
What you'll get:
- We'll fire your pot for you so you can collect your very own finished pot at a later date
- The tools and equipment you need to to make your coil pot
- Tea, coffee, juice and snacks
Please wear closed-in shoes and clothes you don't mind getting a bit dirty (we'll provide aprons)!
About the facilitator
Melissa has been in the Brisbane pottery scene for 20 years, working as a decorator and studio assistant. She has run creative workshops for Multicap and can usually be found cutting up the curtains to make hats for her own clothing label!
