Event description
BOO! Join us for some spooky, spine chilling and rib tickling stories by founders this Halloween

About this Event

Most of us would have at least one good (note:silly) story to share about the most terrifying incident that happened during the course of work-life.

This Halloween night, we are joining forces with affix and WeWork to bring you a series of short horror stories that will send shivers down your spine, some could be embarrassingly funny too. With the real life experiences shared by a lined up of esteemed founders, join us for an evening of light-hearted laughters, good food and amazing company.

Stay tuned for more speakers announcement!

George McEnroe, Founder, Shebah

Georgina McEncroe has had extensive experience in leadership and resilience. With a blend of honesty and inspiration she can lead discussion, MC or keynote speak on anything from life change, culture shifting, technology, women in leadership, getting girls to the top, diversity, and courage when it counts.

George founded Shebah - the all women rideshare - in the midst of divorce and the realisation that the weight of raising 4 kids now fell on her shoulders. She understands not only balance in life, but also balance in life’s darkest moments. George didn’t just find balance, she made it.

George is changing the lives of over 1,200 drivers, all of whom are women and all of whom are accessing flexibility, a solid income, and a collective purpose of women’s empowerment. She’s encouraging financial literacy by providing free consultations with experts to all Shebah drivers.

Sheryl Thai, Founder, Cupcake Central & the League of Extraordinary Women

Sheryl Thai began her career in the IT industry as an IT Consultant but, with a job loss resulting from the economic downturn of 2009, found herself presented with a unique opportunity to fulfil her passion of starting a cupcake business.

Starting off in her home kitchen with less than $2000, the business started to flourish as name “Cupcake Central” spread through word of mouth and orders starting flowing in.

Since then, Cupcake Central has expanded to 5 stores, published two cookbooks and amassed an online following of over 80,000 avid fans. Sheryl won the Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2013 at the Australian Start Up Awards and was also a finalist in the Telstra Business Women’s Awards 2016, Entrepreneur category.

In April 2019, Sheryl made the decision to successfully exit her first business, Cupcake Central, to focus on her role as CEO and Co-Founder at League of Extraordinary Women and launched their tech platform, Meet Your Maven as a global solution for everyone to access world-class women mentors.

Sheryl Thai is the CEO and co-founder of the League of Extraordinary Women, former founder of Cupcake Central, speaker, mentor, Board Member of Project Gen Z and Membership Chair of Entrepreneurs Organisation Melbourne Chapter. Sheryl is a speaker of choice for high profile brands such as Telstra, Hewlett Packard, American Express, Square, RMIT and The Body Shop.
