Event description

Description

We are well aware of the growing challenges facing Christians today. There is increasing pressure on Christian values in the public sphere, and there is now a greater need than ever for leadership and courage from the Church as we stand firm in our faith.

We would therefore like to invite you and your church community to a special screening of 'Hacksaw Ridge' on Friday the 18th November at 7pm at the Capitol Theatre Building - 6 Franklin st. Manuka.

This event will be accompanied by a talk from former Brigadier Jim Wallace on Conscience, Courage and Christian Leadership in our modern times.

The movie is the true story of Desmond Doss, a strong Christian pacifist who wishes to nevertheless serve in WWII as a medic. Although facing severe persecution for his beliefs, he stands firm and ends up winning the Medal of Honor for his heroics. It is without doubt one of the most powerful and overtly Christian movies ever made regarding faith and fortitude, and a timely message considering the current climate.

Please be aware however that this movie is MA15+ as it contains very graphic violence. We would not recommend it for youth groups.
