Event description

Description

CERI and Accelerating Australia are delighted to welcome Dr David Putrino as our next guest entrepreneur. His official job title is "Director of Rehabilitation Innovation" at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, but his much more fun title is the "Chief Mad Scientist" at Not Impossible Labs. David designs, innovates and hacks technology to improve healthcare for those who cannot afford it. From 3D printing new limbs for amputees in Sub-Saharan Africa to creating open-access pain-management systems using inexpensive VR, David dedicates his time to create simple solutions to big problems.

He is also no stranger to the world of entrepreneurship. David helped to build, and then successfully exited from his own startup, GesTherapy, and now in his position at Mount Sinai helps young health technology companies bridge the gap between concept and clinical validation. He sits on the advisory board of multiple health startups, is a mentor for the ELab NYC, HITLAB and IndieBio Accelerators and is the author of "Hacking Health: How to make money and save lives in the healthtech world" - a how-to guide for health technology entrepreneurs looking to develop their first product.

David will be speaking about the incredible journey that led him to work with Not Impossible Labs and some of the life-changing projects he's worked on, including "Project Daniel", creating a range of health- based mobile applications and even experimenting with VR to assist healthcare. After his talk there will be a Q+A session, followed by nibbles and networking.

Please arrive at 5.30pm for a 6.00pm start.
