Event description

Description

Around the world, people are taking action to redress gender imbalance and we need you. Did you know that less than 10% of Wikipedia editors are female? This bias is reflected in the lack of articles about notable women, including designers. Help us redress the balance, share your knowledge and get editing with like-minded advocates and lovers of design. This day of social wiki-editing is also open to anyone curious about Wikipedia. The event will kick-off with a panel discussion by designers Zoe Sadokierski, Cathy Lockhart and Olivia Hyde who will contribute to the collective brains-trust on the day.

How to prepare:

Create a Wikipedia account before the event here. Bring your own laptops and power cords if you can. We have a limited number of computers available. No Wikipedia editing experience is necessary. A training session will be held on the day as well as hands-on assistance. Training modules are available here if you would like to prepare yourself in advance.
