Habitat heroes: Create your own Insect hotel

Habitat heroes: Create your own Insect hotel

By Central Coast Council - Environmental Education

Overview

Discover our incredible pollinators and explore ways to boost biodiversity in your backyard by building an insect hotel to take home!

Insect hotels provide a habitat for a wide range of insects, including solitary native bees. During this workshop, we’ll highlight the importance of increasing biodiversity at home and in the local environment while creating an upcycled bee hotel to keep. It's also a fantastic opportunity to cut down on waste.

This hands-on session will allow kids to strengthen their practical abilities and gain insights into how to conserve and protect our environment.

**For ages 7-12 years. What to bring: Please bring 1 tin can (recommended 400 gram size) per child to upcycle into your bee hotel!

** Please note: Some equipment used during the workshop may make loud noises, so children with sound sensitivities may need extra support
