Aim
This session will launch the Sunshine Coast Eating Disorders Access Trial and introduce the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service Eating Disorders Service. 

Learning Outcomes

  • Overview of treatments and eligibility criteria for the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service Eating Disorder Service and the Sunshine Coast Eating Disorders Access Trial.
  • Describe how screening for disordered eating can contribute to patient care.
  • Identify the red flags for eating disorders and when to refer.
  • Discuss assessment and engagement strategies for patients with suspected eating disorders; the on-going medical management within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen approaches to eating disorders in own practice or service through engagement with the Trial.

 Lesley Cook                  Director of Partners in Practice. Lesley is the author of the Trial model and lead author of the National Agenda for Eating Disorders and the NEDC stepped care approach for eating disorders, which sit behind the model.
