Featuring: GTM local act Tusk, Jack and The Kids and At The Dakota (Darwin).
Bendigo-bred trio Tusk will be taking their hometown audience on a head-banging odyssey, swerving through stoner rock grooves and powerhouse riffs that have got a whiff of Nirvana's 'Teen Spirit' about it.
AT THE DAKOTA
Hailing from tropical Darwin, have established themselves as one of the most exciting bands to come out of the Northern Territory with their addictive pop sensibilities and hooky, quirky lyrics and melodies. At The Dakota’s sound is influenced by the warmth and optimistic attitude that epitomizes Northern Territory living. Their songs are unapologetically groovy, they’re catchy and energetic and their lyrics are refreshingly cryptic. The five-piece have supported The Rubens, The Bennies, Saskwatch and Ball Park Music, they won a People’s Choice Award in the NT Song of the Year and won the public vote to perform at the 2016 BASSINTHEGRASS Festival.
JACK AND THE KIDS
Jack And The Kids are a four-piece outfit writing music centered on emotive & contemplative context. Blending rock with a hint of indie/pop, the Bendigo band couple enticing rhythms and ambience with soaring guitars. The first half of 2016 saw Jack And The Kids being crowned winners of the triple J Unearthed Groovin The Moo competition in Bendigo. Both of their singles ‘Real Again’ and ‘Alone’ received airplay with broadcaster triple j & triple J unearthed, with ‘Real Again’ receiving significant praise from online outlets in Australia and worldwide.
