The AGDF's Green Speed Learning Forum for August focuses on the topic of Sustainability Rating Tools. Our speakers will give an update on various sustainability rating tools and discuss Brisbane based projects.

EarthCheck, one of the original sustainability rating tools, has stood the test of time and is now ideal for reporting against the UN's 17 Sustainability Development Goals. Thirty one years after its inception, Mark Thomson will overview the Earthcheck approach, explain why it has been internationally adopted and discuss a Gold Brisbane project.

EnviroDevelopment is a national sustainability rating tool that is increasingly evolving with the industry, and has just undergone a review of its Technical Standards. Taylor Hood looks into what the changes have been and where he sees future changes being adopted.

John Moynihan will give an overview of the market from a rating tool perspective and comment on the variances and relevance of the array of tools available. He will address in particular the introduction of Passiv Haus as a tool that can be applied universally across all buildings and how its focus on performance of the building is a saleable proposition in the confusing world of certification. Reference will be made and insights given to a Brisbane based project aiming for Passiv Haus certification in 2020.
