About this event

It’s never been more important to incorporate mindfulness into our everyday lives than it is right now. With GSA's free meditation sessions you’ll learn how to quiet your mind and become more aware of the present moment.

There is no limit to how many sessions you can attend, and all classes are suitable for both beginners, and those with a little more experience.

A little about your guide, Lisa:

Dance, yoga & meditation as naturally arising practices have been in my life for many years, and I have been teaching for 10, with classes based in Footscray as Bindu Creative Dance & Yoga.

I completed my 350 hour Senior Yoga teacher training with Meditation & Yoga School of India and am a Registered L1 Yoga Australia teacher & Kids yoga teacher. I have continued studies in chanting & mantra, embodied breath practices, prenatal yoga and yoga nidra- a deeply powerful practice of yogic sleep.

I truly believe that our breath- ‘the sweetness of the breath’ - is one of our greatest teachers, aligning us with our body’s natural rhythms, gently guiding us into a blissful infinite awareness of the universe contained within.

In meditation we can nurture and nourish the relationship we have with our breath, & in doing so transform the relationship we have with our bodies, our minds & the divine essence that is our deepest nature.

I’ll be presenting my favourite simple techniques that can be practiced safely and easily as together we engage in meditation with an embodied, sensory and creative approach.

To support your practice a few items may be helpful but not essential: a quiet uninterrupted space, soft lighting, a cushion for sitting, a water bottle, tissues, a yoga mat, a blanket.
