About this event

IMPORTANT: This session is for parents and carers in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven only.

For many parents, meal times are a battle - but they don't have to be. Picky eating and other challenging mealtime behaviours are a normal part of childhood development and there are lots of ways to make this stage easier for you and your child. Come and learn how you can take some of the stress out of feeding your child and how to help them grow to be a healthy eater.

This session is designed for parents with children between the ages of 12 months and approximately 5 years.

Topics covered include;

  • What and how much food children need
  • Learning to eat
  • Picky eating
  • Responsive eating
  • Feeding roles - parent and child
  • Tips to help your child grow to be a healthy eater

Organised by

Health Promotion works to improve the health and wellbeing of people who live in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven.

The service works in partnership with organisations and groups in the community - like schools, daycare centres, preschools and community organisations - to help people make healthy living choices. This is done by providing a range of healthy eating and active living programs for people of all ages.

Health Promotion focuses on healthy eating, physical activity, preventing falls in older people and reducing cigarette smoking and vaping.
