The Society for Industrial and Organisational Psychology Australia is proud to present its third annual leader panel event to highlight the needs and perspectives of organisational leaders who are responsible and accountable for achieving results and supporting the well-being and growth of their people.

Mr Jon Wilson (Director, 3Pillars Asia Pacific; Managing Director, Blue Provident) will facilitate an interactive panel discussion and Q&A session with three organisational leaders: Ms Lorna MacGregor (CEO, Lifeline WA), Mr Ian Shakesphere (CEO, SMG Helth) and Mr Guy Sanders (Experienced Executive Leader). Key topics of panel discussion will include:

  • Advice for professionals or specialists (including Organisational Psychologist) that executives might seek advice from.
  • What makes a psychologically healthy workplace?
  • Measures organisations can take to contribute to a psychologically healthy workplace.

Audience members will also be given the opportunity to ask questions of their own and join in for a networking event afterwards.


About the Speakers:

Jon Wilson (Director, 3Pillars Asia Pacific; Managing Director, Blue Provident)

Jon is an organisational development specialist who works with medium and large organisations to enhance organisational and people outcomes. He has managed improvement and change projects in Australia and overseas across a range of industries. He has a Masters in Organisational Psychology and is also a Certified Management Consultant and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Jon is a Director of Management Consulting firm 3Pillars Asia Pacific and Managing Director in Australia for Blue Provident, who specialise in survey-based measurement and organisational assessment. Jon has over 20 years of experience as a practicing Psychologist, including 13 years as a self-employed independent consultant.

Lorna MacGregor (CEO, Lifeline WA)

Lorna has been CEO of Lifeline WA since 2016 where the dedication and the non-judgemental compassion of the volunteer crisis supporters inspires her every day. Lorna is an experienced senior executive who has had a diverse and varied career. Lorna has held senior roles in government, corporate and not-for-profit organisations.

Lorna holds an MBA specialising in strategic marketing and strategic planning from Curtin University, and is an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management (AFAIM) and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).

Ian Shakesphere (CEO, SMG Health)

Ian is CEO of SMG Health, a provider of holistic integrated corporate wellbeing services, and was formerly CEO for PPC Worldwide in Australia and Senior Vice President Asia Pacific for Optum Health. He has worked as a business leader and management consultant for 30 years within the EAP & Wellness industry throughout Australia and the Asia Pacific. More recently he has been providing corporate consultancy services with an emphasis on enhancing employee well-being to achieve higher productivity and profitability within an environment of rapid organisational change.

Ian has a Bachelor of Behavioural Science, Graduate Diploma of Education, Graduate Diploma of Counselling Psychology and a Master of Business Administration. He is also President of the Asia Pacific Employee Assistance Roundtable and a Director of the International Council of Stress Management Professionals.

Guy Sanders (Experienced Executive Leader)

Guy is an experienced business leader with broad experience across Australia and Internationally in the banking, health, financial services and insurance industries. Guy has held senior leadership positions with the ANZ Bank, Esanda Finance, GMAC, HealthGuard, HBF Health and Aussie Home Loans. He has been responsible for leading changes to deliver optimal people, customer and business performance outcomes. As a leader of many significant organisational changes, from short term “trouble shooting” projects right through to large and complex business transformation programs, Guy will share what he has learned about how change can be inherently healthy or unhealthy for the workforce.
