Description

The field of Organisational Psychology is focused on creating environments that maximise performance whilst being inherently healthy for the people in those organisations. The Society for Industrial and Organisational Psychology Australia is proud to present a unique panel event to highlight the needs and perspectives of organisational leaders who are responsible and accountable for achieving results and supporting the wellbeing and growth of their people.

Mr Jon Wilson (Director, 3Pillars Asia Pacific; Managing Director, Blue Provident) will be facilicating an interactive panel discussion (and Q&A session) with three organisational leaders: Mr Jason Waters (Chief Executive Officer, Synergy), Mr Barry Bloch (Chief Operating Officer Project Support, BGC Contracting), and Ms Jane O'Halloran (General Manager - Strategy, Southern Cross Care (WA) inc).

This SIOPA event is eligible for 1 CPD hour.

About the Speakers:

Jon Wilson (Director, 3Pillars Asia Pacific; Managing Director, Blue Provident)

Jon is an organisational development specialist who works with medium and large organisations to enhance organisational and people outcomes. He has managed improvement and change projects in Australia and overseas across a range of industries. He has a Masters in Organisational Psychology and is also a Certified Management Consultant and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Jon is a Director of Management Consulting firm 3Pillars Asia Pacific and Managing Director in Australia for Blue Provident, who specialise in survey-based measurement and organisational assessment. Jon has over 20 years of experience as a practicing Psychologist, including 13 years as a self-employed independent consultant.

Jason Waters (Chief Executive Officer, Synergy)

Jason has served as the chief executive officer (CEO) of Synergy since January 2014 and prior to that he was the CEO of Verve Energy for two years.

Synergy is Western Australia’s largest electricity generator and retailer with a diverse range of power generating assets located throughout the South West Interconnected System and has in excess of one million residential and business customers.

Jason holds a Bachelor of Engineering and a Graduate Diploma of Business from Curtin University and has a background in engineering, power system planning, energy trading and fuel contract negotiation and management with 27 years’ experience in the energy sector.

Barry Bloch (Chief Operating Officer Project Support, BGC Contracting)

Barry brings extensive executive and functional leadership to BGC Contracting’s role of Chief Operating Officer – Project Support, with a career spanning more than 25 years, 50 countries and multiple economic sectors. Previously Barry was Group Managing Director – People with Worley Parsons. He has also worked in senior leadership roles for both ASX and FTSE top 10 companies and for leading global professional services firms, Heidrick & Struggles, McKinsey & Company and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Barry has specialised expertise in the People discipline in which he has worked for over 20 years, with a primary focus on organisational and cultural transformation or turnaround in both developed and developing nations. His experience also includes providing specialist, strategic People support to numerous corporate deals.

Barry holds a Masters degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology and has been registered as a psychologist in Australia, South Africa and United Kingdom.

Jane O'Halloran (General Manager - Strategy, Southern Cross Care (WA) inc)

Jane is an Organisational Psychologist and highly commercial senior executive with over 15 years’ experience in senior strategic roles across a number of sectors including private and not-for-profit.

Jane has served as the General Manager – Strategy at SCC since 2013, one of the largest and leading aged care providers in WA. She has been responsible for all aspects of strategy, marketing, human resources and risk, and also supporting new services and innovation in this sector. Prior to this, Jane held several consulting roles working with clients on key organisational projects including leadership development and engagement, performance measurement, and executive coaching.

Jane has a Bachelor of Science (Psychology), Graduate Diploma of Psychology and a Masters of Psychology (Organisational).
