Greens Bush to Arthurs Seat Biolink National Tree Day Planting Event
Date and time
The Mornington Peninsula Landcare Network invites you to come and help us plant indigenous trees and shrubs to help our local wildlife!
About this event
The Mornington Peninsula Landcare Network’s ‘Greens Bush to Arthurs Seat Biolink’ (GB2AS) is an ongoing project to improve catchment health and address a lack of landscape connectivity on the Mornington Peninsula. This project is reconnecting the two largest core patches of remnant vegetation remaining on the Mornington Peninsula, Arthurs Seat State Park and Mornington Peninsula National Park (Greens Bush) through revegetation and protection of remnant bushland on private property. To date 35 properties have signed on to contribute to the biolink to help support our threatened local flora and fauna.
This National Tree Day we aim to plant over 1,600 indigenous trees and shrubs at 'The Dairy' in Main Ridge to help strengthen the biolink further. The community is invited to lend a helping hand. All tools will be supplied. Please wear suitable protective clothing and sturdy closed-toe footwear. BYO gardening gloves, water bottle and snacks. We will conclude the day with a BBQ lunch.
This project is funded through the state government's Victorian Landcare Grant initiative.
