Join the festivities at the Agora — bringing the sights, smells, tastes and sounds of Greece to the Museum.

About this event

Much more than a market, the Agora was the centre of athletic, social, spiritual and political life in Ancient Greece.

Taste delicious food, browse market stalls, join a debate or sit back and take in music and dance performances. As evening closes in, enjoy the Cellar Door Market.

90-minute sessions between 10am and 4pm

Free though costs apply for some activities

This event will be managed in line with the Museum’s Covid-19 safety plan and is subject to change at short notice.

Where our stories come alive

The National Museum of Australia brings to life the rich and diverse stories of Australia through compelling objects, ideas and events. Our exhibitions, collections, programs and research focus on three interrelated themes; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and culture, Australia’s history and society since 1788, and the interaction of people with the environment. These define our conceptual framework through the themes of; land, nation, and people.
