Great Southern Half Marathon
Sun. 16 July 2017, 8:00 pm – 11:00 pm ACST
This is the second running of the Great Southern Half Marathon. It is held 5 weeks before the Adelaide marathon which is perfect timing and distance for a good hit out. If you are not running the Adelaide Marathon the Great Southern Half Marathon makes an ideal early winter target race.
It is a reasonably flat course over a mix of road, trail and beach. Starting at Snapper Point, the course will follow the Esplanade path to the Star of Greece and back before heading on a loop around the Aldinga Scrub. You'll run down Norman Road to hit the beach at the Aldinga Bay Surf Life Saving Club and head south to the turnaround point at Sellicks Beach ramp. Then it is straight back to the finish line at Snapper Point along the beach to the Aldinga ramp & Esplanade path.
The course will be well marked, there will be water stations along the way and refreshments and glory await you at the finish line.
