Great Forest Great Photographic Tour
Sat. 10 December 2016, 8:45 am – 5:30 pm AEDT
It's with great pleasure that we announce our next photographic tour - The Great Forest Great Photographic Tour!
Both Ringwood & Croydon Camera House are in support for The Great Forest National Park, so on the 10th of December we're running a photographic tour out into the Central Highlands of Victoria, to immerse ourselves in the native beauties, and capturing the essence of why this park is needing to be made.
Throughout the tour we'll visit three main locations, one of an old growth forest - containing the giant mountain ash trees; a lush cool temperture rainforest - with the enchanted myrtle beech trees and diverse ecological forest floor; and finally a clear felled logging coupe - a scourered landscape in complete contrast to the first two environments. In visiting these three locations, we'll be aiming to capture the emotions that are derived from these contrasting landscapes and translate these to our images, in which we aim to convey that same feeling we felt, when the viewer responds to them. We'll be looking at different ways to approach this throughout the tour.
The tour will be both a practical and informative day that is open to all with an interest in photography, whether beginner or advanced and have an interest in landscape & environmental photography. Nathan, your trip organiser, along side some of the joyful Camera House staff combined will come along in support of the tour, and be there for any assistance or inspiration.
The tour will kick off from Croydon Camera House, with transport provided, we will venture out towards the proposed area of the National Park. All day parking is available at Croydon Railway Station. There will be no strenuous walking involved in the tour, there will only be short walks out into the different forest areas.
There is no firm charge for the tour, but in order to cover costs we ask for a $40 contribution. Payments can be made on the day.
