Description

Did Piketty get it right? Discussing Thomas Piketty’s Capital in the Twenty-First Century

As part of the UNSW Grand Challenge on Inequality, we are inviting all students and staff to join us in discussion on Thomas Piketty’s leading work on inequality, Capital in the Twenty-First Century. Capital has been heralded one of the decade’s most important books on economic inequality and was awarded the Financial Times Business Book of the Year Award in 2014.

Join guest panellists Peter van Onselen (Sky News) and Andrew Leigh MP, Member for Fenner, as they share their thoughts on the book, and if they think Piketty got it right. The discussion will be facilitated by Professor Rosalind Dixon, joint lead of the Grand Challenge on Inequality.

Light refreshments will be provided from 9am.

The book club will be followed by a Grand Challenge on Inequality forum, that will allow staff and students contribute their ideas.
