Session 1 - RG - Body Development, Apparatus Warm Up and Dance

Session Date & Time: Sunday 28th November 9.00am - 10.30am

Presenter Bio:

Iuliia Iakovleva

Iuliia is the personal coach of 2020 Olympian Lidiia Iakovleva and has been an Australian coach at other international events including 2018 Youth Olympics and World Championships. Iuliia has been fortunate to work closely with international coaches and ballet teachers. Outside of her passion of gymnastics, Iuliia utilises her mental health degree, working as a Counsellor. Iuliia currently coaches at Aspire Gymnastics Academy.

Session 2 - RG - DA’s theory – “How to teach a DA”

Presenters Bio:

Gina Peluso

Gina is a three-time Olympic coach, having recently returned from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with Australia’s first RG group. Gina coached Danielle Prince at the 1996 Rio Olympics and Naazmi Johnston at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Gina has been a member of the Qld RG SMC for 15 years. She has an FIG Coaching Brevet, an FIG Judging Brevet and is currently the RG Head Coach at Premier Gymnastics Academy.

Anya Tabolkina

Anya has been a member of the Gymnastics Australia RG National Commission since 2018 and the Qld State Judging Coordinator since 2017. She is an RG High Performance coach and holds an FIG Judging Brevet. Anya commenced as an RG coach when she was 14 and realised her dream nine years later, when she opened her own club, Aspire Gymnastics Academy.

Session 3 - RG- DA’s practical – “Is my DA valid”

Session 4 - How changes to the FIG Code impact the ALP

Session Description:

Changes to the FIG RG 2022 - 2024 Code of Points that will be incorporated into the ALP rules for RG will be outlined.

Updating Points:

Two updating points per session will be awarded.
