Govatts Leap Hike to Pulpit Rock Hike & Champagne Brunch Blue Mountains ~ // Sun 15th December

JOIN US. On this epic 2 hike adventure of the Grose Valley, which lies at the heart of the Blue Mountains National Park & is regarded as the cradle of conservation in NSW.

Featuring: Lush Forests, Historic Tracks, Indigenous Landmarks,Wildlife, Champagne, Brunch Canapes, Canyons, Cliffs, lookouts, Waterfalls & Spectacular Landscapes,

What's Included: Guided Hike, snacks, Champagne, Breakfast Canapes, Licensing, Permits, First Aid ( we provide dietary alternatives for those with food allergies etc )

Grade: 3 moderate

  • Drive along Great Western Highway into Blackheath, approaching Blackheath Station.

  • On your right you with see Hat Hill Rd, turn right down this road, staying on this long road, continuing on you will pass Twin Falls Road & Pulpit Rock Rd on your right, contunue to drive, the road will become a hard packed fire trail.

  • Approx 100 or so metres after Pulpit Rock Rd you will see a car parking area to your right. Do not continue driving down Perrys Lookdown Rd.

  • Park at the Hat Hill Rd carpark & wait for the group.


  • Meet & Greet at Hat Hill Carpark 8.30am


  • Heading to the west of the car park we start our #1 hike of the day, climbing up to the top of Hat Hill Trig, we take in the views of Mt Banks, Mt Wilson & Mt Victoria in the distance. Making our way from the Hat Hill summit to Bald Head, we follow the track through scrubby bushland & heath to rock hop & scramble further upwards as we gain sight of Bald Head & the memerizing vistas of Butterbox Canyon & the bottle neck of the Grose Valley

  • Stopping on Bald Head summit to enjoy our champagne brunch & the uniterrupted views.

  • After our brunch we return back to our cars.

  • Driving to Pulpit Rock we park & commence our #2 hike of the day

  • Starting out we head down to the multi tiered lookout offering several platforms on different levels. Each platform offers a different perspective of the Grose Valley & all of them combined results in a near 360degree views of the surrounding landscape.

  • The walking track is a spectacular 7km return hike from Pulpit Rock to Govatts Leap Lookout, following the edge of the cliff around the Grose Valley.

  • On our way to Govatts Leap we will detour up to Popes Glen Waterfall & Popes Glen Creek, returning to the track you will see the impressive amphitheatre like formation of Horseshoe Falls.

  • Several lookouts offer views of the falls from many different angles.

  • Bridal Veil Falls adds a mystical feel to the surrounding scenery that makes the Grose Valley such a beautiful place on earth. It may not be wide but with the delicate flow of water from this 180mtr waterfall it certainly is impressive.

  • Travelling on further we arrive at Govatts leap Lookout, to enjoy a light lunch break & the mesmerizing views of the valley. There are toilets at Govatts Leap.

  • After our break we retrace out steps back to our cars at Pulpit Rock

FINISH: 2.30 - 3pm approx depends on group pace & how long we take for photos & our break

What is the walking pace?

  • We will be hiking at a moderate pace, catering for everyone, being mindful of different fitness levels & efforts involved, not rushing to finish, taking care to respect each other. Hiking together, we believe in a group, is the same as being in a team, we make sure all hikers in our group are together keeping each other well supported & safe.

What happens if I wish to walk faster than the group?

  • We do understand that everyone walks at different paces, this is a moderate walking pace hike. If you are walking faster & way ahead of the group you are missing out on what Lost & Found Wellness Adventures is all about; you are missing out on the enriching life experience with your group. If your guide can not see you, you are out of safe supervising range. Unfortunately we can not take any responsibility for you. It is best to stay within range of our group.

What is the Grade?

  • This is a grade 3 hard moderate hike, it has steep stairs, track steepness, single track

What size backpack do I need?

  • You will just need a day pack to carry your snacks, water & jacket.

Is there any mobile phone reception?

  • Reception is poor on the track. The only telco with some service is TELSTRA 4G network.

What if I have dietary requirements?

  • No problem. we cater for vegan, keto, vegetarian & gluten free diets. Let us know once you have booked your ticket.

What happens if there is an emergency?

  • Your professional guide is trained in Wilderness first aid. Your guide will carry a first aid kit, have a PLB registered with emergency services & registration with Blue Mountains National Park Office. Our guides carry a topographic map with compass & are trained in wilderness navigation. Each guide is equipped with a mobile phone & 2 way radio if needed.

We provide a refund minus the $50 admin & permit fee up to 7 days before event. There is no refund given with less than 7 days notice before event. This is due to catering, fees & permits which are non-refundable from our end. Your ticket however may be transferred to another person who wishes to join us.
