Event description

Description

As a committee or board member of a community organisation, it’s important you’re fully aware of your legal responsibilities. This session will cover:

  • the legal role of committee members as decision makers
  • the difference between governance and management
  • the importance of your organisations’ rules and legal purpose or objects
  • the 4 main legal duties of committee members
  • potential liabilities and how to protect your organisation

This session will be split over two days: Thursday 27 July and Friday 28. We recommend you attend both Part 1 and Part 2 to gain a full understanding of the topic.

Supported by the City of Canterbury Bankstown and funded by the NSW Government through the Stronger Communities Fund.
