Join us for our 98th dinner at Molly and Steve's Hands On Gourmet in San Francisco's Dogpatch neighborhood.

Expect cocktails at 6:00 and our speaker around 6:45 with a family style feast introduced around 7:00, prepared by our professional chef. Wines will be thoughtfully paired with the menu.

ATTIRE: Attire is relaxed and informal.

About GOOD PEOPLE: Most of the enjoyment we gain from an experience has more to do with who we're with than what we're doing. Good People is about inspiration, community and friendships. Who are good people? They’re our best selves, when we rise above tribalism and explore big ideas.

OUR SPEAKER:

What happens when we stop thinking of learning as a means to an end and start thinking of learning as the goal itself, a process through which we can better enjoy the moment? How rewarding is curiosity without any objective to achieve or milestone of accomplishment?

Our friend Michelle Wasserman will share her story and discuss with us how to guide our lifelong learning outside of formal coursework. Is learning a basic need? How might we create new opportunities for learning and growth? When is it appropriate to become your own expert? In general, she hopes to reignite our love affair with learning. There will not be a quiz at the end of this dinner.

THE CHEF: Our friend and chef Moe Inani has worked in some of the west coast's most celebrated restaurants, including Saison, Nobu and Morimoto. He draws inspiration from a variety of sources, including traditional Arabic menus and all the subtle offerings of Japanese cuisine.

This is Moe's first time feeding our Good People community. Thanks again for the introduction Alessandra Ross!

THE MENU:

To Start:

  • Smashed cucumber salad: smashed cucumber, garlicky sweet and sour sauce, Korean chili powder, sesame seeds

  • Hamachi seared sashimi: Japanese hamachi, yuzu sanbaizu sauce, topped ginger and chives and seared with sesame olive oil and finished with chili garlic oil.

Mains:

  • Poke: spicy tuna poke over sushi rice, chunky guac, seaweed salad, bean sprouts, scallions and Sichuan chili oil.

  • Indonesian salad: blanched and raw market vegetables, peanut sauce served over puffed rice crackers.

  • Squab: grilled lemongrass squab, coconut brown butter papaya salad, coconut rice, tamarind sauce and herbs

To Finish:

  • Ice cream (flavor TBD), mango, mangosteen, dragonfruit raspberry sauce, middle eastern cotton candy

If you're vegetarian or have other dietary needs or restrictions, please contact Raman at least 72 hours in advance.

Drinks at 6:00, dinner at 7:00. Though a cocktail and some wine will be provided, guests are welcome to bring a bottle of wine to share. Menu update coming soon to help you choose your bottles. We always make sure vegetarian friends will have plenty to eat. Please contact Raman if you have any other dietary restrictions.
