About this Event
Are you a man aged over 60? Join us at the Traralgon Library, from 10am to 11.30am on the third Tuesday of the month to chat, relax and yarn about the good old days. You don’t need to provide anything other than your own memories! Light refreshments available.

Tuesday 16 March: Home is where the heart is – Gippsland History
Your childhood, family and places, your first job.
Tuesday 20 April: Your patch
Your backyard, the vegie garden, your special hobbies.
Tuesday 18 May: School back then and games we played
Revisit your childhood with board and card games, lawn games and old toys. All about school life.
Tuesday 15 June: Repair, remake, reuse, recycle
Bushcraft skills and making do. Remember how we used to tie knots, whip ropes and make halters? What other bushcraft skills did you have?
Tuesday 20 July: Excursion to Old Gippstown Heritage Park
Join your new friends on an excursion to Old Gippstown. Enjoy light refreshments or lunch. Stay all day. Old Gippstown is open from 10am to 4pm, entry is $10 (adults) $8 (concession). Provide your own transport.
Tuesday 17 August: Music and Movies
What music did you listen to? Did you go to dances or the drive in? What movies were your favourites? Share your stories of what did for entertainment. Bring in some music.
Tuesday 21 September: Your first car was?
How did you get around? By horse, bicycle, motorcycle? We’ll remember those early vehicles, the railways, trams and buses.
Tuesday 19 October: Travel adventures, family excursions and holidays
Summer holidays when we were young. Places I’ve been and those I’ve yet to see. Share your travel adventures.
Tuesday 16 November: Sports and leisure
Sports, leisure and recreation. Backyard cricket with all the neighbours… What sports did you play or follow? Do you like fishing, hiking, running, four wheel driving?
Tuesday 21 December: Let's celebrate
The festive season. What is your favourite Christmas treat? How we celebrated then and now.
